Create and edit stabs

Stabs are helpful objects used to rappresent punches. This
command allows you to add a series of these stabs to the model parametrically.

Steps

  1. Select the target curve you want to add the stabs to or select the stab you want to edit
  2. Select a method and fill in the options that are given. Click Ok (or press space) to confirm

Methods

Method:

  • Distance based: select this method if the distance between the Stabs is the parameter that you want to control
  • Number based: select this method if the Number of Stabs is the parameter that you want to control

Options

Method

  • Distance: create the stabs setting the distance between each of them
  • Number: create the stabs setting their number

Distance from

  • Distance from start (shortcut: W): the distance, calculated from the start of the curve, from where the stabs series will begins
  • Distance from end (shortcut: E): the distance, calculated from the end of the curve, where the stabs series will finish
  • You can also pick the start/end points on the curve using the corresponding buttons

Stab property

  • Offset value: the offset value is the distance from the target curve for a new curve where the stabs series will be created
  • Radius: radius of each stab
  • Flip button (shortcut: T): if you are using an offset, use flip to move the stabs to the other side of the curve
